Saving You Time And Money!

If necessity is the mother of invention, imagination is certainly the father. Imagination has been the driving force behind mankind's greatest achievements. Neil Armstrong's moonwalk, for example, had us all staring at our television sets in awe. But soon, the novelty faded, and manned space adventures were taken for granted - until something went wrong that tragic January day in 1986, when the Challenger exploded.

The processing of business records is often taken for granted, too... by management and customers alike. But what happens when something goes wrong, and your original documents are destroyed or lost? Your microfilm record then becomes your only record, and its integrity can mean the difference between the smooth continuation of your business...or substantial, unrecoverable losses.

Fortunately, we can help. We're Micrographic Sciences, Inc. and our imagination, coupled with our commitment to excellence, and technical competence, has driven us to develop unique new methods for processing microfilm which assure the complete integrity of your records.

At the heart of MSI's commitment to excellence is our proprietary Computer Assisted Processing System, or CAPS. CAPS is a unique and sophisticated system for quality control and record management and it offers you savings in time and money.

MSI offers such custom service options as Sorter Information Reports, including summary reports and detail reports; Microfilm Information Reports; and monthly , quarterly, or annual reports for selected departments or the entire corporation. These reports detail production and efficiency...making it easier to maintain maximum performance.

CAPS automatically maintains your library during the film processing operation. CAPS assigns each roll a unique microfilm location number, based upon your own storage system. This microfilm location number is printed, along with other pertinent information onto labels, making identification accurate, automatic, fast and easy. Before you receive your processed film, you may access your updated library information via the internet.

This unique update feature saves your people time, money, and assures accuracy.

In addition to providing an easy-to-use library system and reports for checks and balances, CAPS provides the monitoring necessary to insure the best film quality possible... Quality that exceeds industry specifications every time a roll is processed.

The monitoring continues as the exposed microfilm is processed. CAPS requires the evaluation of a simulated image before production film is processed. During evaluation, the simulated image is input to the computer and the system does extensive parameter testing and modeling to determine if the process level is correct.

If the process is not correct the system guides the operator in making corrections to the process. CAPS examines the imagery from two viewpoints: first from the viewpoint "Will the process, as it stands, produce film that is within specification ?" ; second, "Will the process continue to produce film that is within the established quality standards ?".

CAPS requires the operator to run tests each 1500 feet as the the film is processed. These tests are input into the computer and examined the same as the pre-process tests. This high sampling rate is a feature that is unique to CAPS.
