About the Emulator Mode

Fuji Film's MS 2600 Digital Image Delivery System includes a built in "Emulator Mode" to allow simulated demonstrations that do not require the presence of an M-Drive.

MS 2600 ships with a set of images for this simulation depicting the popular check application or the dealer may create custom images to tailor a demonstration to a particular client.

To create images for a demonstration you create a series of six "base scans", each consisting of a Text Mode, Text & Photo Mode, and a Photo Mode Image for a total of 18 images.

  •
  • To create each set establish a normal base scan
  •
  • Select "Simplex" and "Text" on the Fuji Scanner Control
  •
  • Click on the "Section" button and define an area equal to the entire base scan.
  •
  • Save the image in the "Images" subfolder (C:\Program Files\MS260030\Images) with the name BASESCAN1.TIF
  •
  • Select "Text & Photo" on the Fuji Scanner Control
  •
  • Click on the "Section" button, click on the "ReScan" button (do not redefine the area)
  •
  • Save the image in the "Images" subfolder (C:\Program Files\MS260030\Images) with the name BASESCAN1T.TIF
  •
  • Select "Photo" on the Fuji Scanner Control
  •
  • Click on the "Section" button, click on the "ReScan" button (do not redefine the area)
  •
  • Save the image in the "Images" subfolder (C:\Program Files\MS260030\Images) with the name BASESCAN1P.TIF
  •
  • Advance the film to the next "base scan" and repeat the process to create 6 sets of images named BASESCAN?.TIF, BASESCAN?T.TIF, and BASESCAN?P.TIF.
To perform a demonstration in "Emulator Mode" start MS 2600 without the M-Drive connected. MS 2600 will display a message alerting you that the M-Drive is not present then asking if you want to enter "Emulator Mode". Answer "Yes" and MS 2600 will open normally. All functions except those involved with manual film movement or Batch Scanning will work. Each time you click on the Search, Base Scan, Load, <<, or >> buttons the next text mode base scan will load. When you make a Check, Duplex, or Section scan MS 2600 will create the final images from the Text, Text & Photo, or Photo mode base scan to give an accurate representation of the scanner operation. All Enhancement and Annotation tools will work normally. Also all distribution methods will work correctly. You can demonstrate the results of Batch Scanning by "Browsing" a previously prepared folder in Thumbnail mode.

Happy Demoing !!!
